Andrew G. Delgado, JMCS Foundation Board President: Andrew G. Delgado has been affiliated with the John Muir Charter Schools (JMCS) since 2002; as a partner agency serving YouthBuild participants and as an advocate and supporter of providing leadership and educational services to the underserved young adults in the Los Angeles area and throughout California. Delgado currently serves as an organizational consultant and coach for executives and senior management of various nonprofits in the Southern California area. Andy received an MBA from UCLA and graduated from San Jose State College with a Bachelor’s degree in marketing and industrial relations.
Cristina Dickason, JMCS Foundation Board Secretary: Cristina Dickason has proudly served John Muir Charter Schools for the last nine (9) years and is currently the Site Director for two WIOA sites within John Muir Charter Schools. She is a Teacher -Mentor for the California Teacher Induction Program through Sacramento County of Education and a member of the John Muir Teacher Advisory Committee (TAC). Cristina is currently working on her Administrative Credential and earned her B.A. in English, Teacher Credential, and Master’s of Education at the University of La Verne. Her ultimate goal is to help mold well-rounded young adults so that they may attain and surpass their educational goals, discover their career pathways and ultimately give back to their communities.
Steven Aaron Scholl, JMCS Foundation Treasurer / Chief Financial Officer. Steven Aaron Scholl is an educator from Los Angeles, CA. He is passionate about serving marginalized youth and specializes in unleashing the positive potential of Transitional-Aged Youth (TAY) into young leaders. Aaron currently serves as Community Resource Director at John Muir Charter Schools.
In his other ventures, Steven Aaron operates “Scholar Studios," which develops affordable housing units for homeless college students. He also writes and performs music to raise money and awareness for charity. Steven Aaron is also the co-founder and Board President of Education is Forever Corp, which supports alternative schools and students on their path to and through college.
Formerly, Steven Aaron served as Assistant Principal for YouthBuild Charter School of CA, Adjunct Faculty at LA Trade Tech College, and has consulted with YouthBuild USA on youth leadership and educational initiatives. He has a B.A. in Mathematics Education from UC Santa Cruz, and a M.A. in Educational Leadership and Administrative Credential from UCLA.
Gil Botello, JMCS Foundation Vice-President. Gil Botello was recently elected to the San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District (SBVMWD) a five member board charged with water policy for 11 cities. Additionally, he has over thirty years’ experience working in the field of job training, work readiness and employment services. As a member of the John Muir Charter Schools, he has guided young people throughout his city, county and state toward high school diploma. Gil has successfully outreached and provided job training services to “hard-to-serve” populations that have traditionally not participated in these programs and systems.
Gil received his Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science degree from Cal Poly Pomona. He has a proven record of building consensus around important policy issues that protect, change and save lives.
